Ardor Rental Boutique l A furniture and prop rental company in Hattiesburg, MS for weddings, photo shoots, and events » Ardor is a prop and furniture rental boutique based out of Hattiesburg, MS that offers vintage and antique rental pieces and styling services for photo shoots and events

At Ardor we pride ourselves in thinking outside the box. The cake table is an area where we love to explore how to highlight one of the most important aspects of a wedding. Here we have 3 completely different styles of wedding cakes, and 3 completely different ways to display them.

These antique side tables were gifted to my mother years ago. I have always cherished them. In this Queen of Hearts Wedding they made the perfect cake table. The drawers were a great way to bring in more floral and greenery.

Queen of Hearts Wedding Photography: Micah Nelson Rentals: Ardor Rental Boutique Hattiesburg, MsSouthern weddings have a special place in any southern girls heart. This gorgeous Peach Wedding Cake was created by Cotton Blues. A wooden chair doesn’t typically come to mind when thinking about cake tables. However, it was exactly what this southern styled cake needed.

Black and Gold Cakes with antlers aren’t common which is why this project was fun. We collaborated with a group of local vendors to create a Halloween Wedding in downtown Hattiesburg, Ms. Here we used our Gold Leaf Nesting Tables and Brass Cake Stand.

This wedding is a perfect example of how to arrange seating for an outdoor ceremony/reception. We planned and styled this beautiful outdoor setting from start to finish. I hope you enjoy all of the inspiration for how to seat your guest as outdoor wedding season approaches.

The persian rugs were absolutely stunning. Though we want them all they are actually owned by the family. We were thrilled to use them to create this amazing aisle.

Friendships are something I have always cherished. Long talks over coffee are among my top 3 favorite things to do. I love intently listening and even more so purposely encouraging. I have been fortunate enough in life to always have a great circle of cheerleaders and I take every chance possible to return the favor. As with any relationship it can be hard but the pay off is always worth the investment.

Investing in friendships has been at the very top of my priority list this past year and God has taught me so much through serving and loving each of them. One of the most important things I have learned is the one similarity among us all. We all have insecurities and self doubt! I really thought I was alone in that character flaw. Thankfully yet unfortunately I am not.

I am surrounded with a group of the most talented men and women in the world. That is not an opinion it is truly a fact. These people are amazing. I always think back to when I viewed each of their work or talent for the first time. I was so mesmerized and impressed.

Through my eyes they were famous and their talent glowed. As friendships developed God showed me something the world had blinded me to. We are all “real” people. Outside of our Instagram news feed and Facebook page is a person who doubts themselves just as I have soo many times before. My heart broke every time I heard them critique their work. If only they could see through my eyes. If only they could feel as beautiful and as wonderful as they looked. Then suddenly it dawned on me, I am exactly the same.

Time and time again I pick my work apart. Always stressed over perfection and critiquing ever word and every post. If only I could see myself through others eyes. Investing in others has shown just as much change in me as it has in them. Doubt and fear are from the enemy and I am determined to overcome them both. 2 Timothy 1-7 says, ” For God has not given us a Spirit of fear but, of power and love and of a sound mind.”

No matter where you are in your walk know this. You are beautiful, you are talented, you are enough. 1 Corinthians 15-10 says this, “But by the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not [found to be] for nothing (fruitless and without effect). In fact, I worked harder than all of them [the apostles], though it was not really I, but the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God which was with me.”

God has favor and blessing over you and it glorifies him to use the talents he bestowed upon you. Nothing is more beautiful than confidence and I challenge us all to shine with it. To all my talented friends you are perfect in every way. I pray and lift you up daily as I always will. My prayer as that our eyes be opened, that we give ourselves grace, and that we someday really see the beauty we create.

Love,

jessig

Our Grand Opening! We have dreamed about this day for a very long time. With the move to our new space in January of 2015 we knew we had the perfect location to open our doors up to the community.

When the planning began we knew we did not want to have a theme. Saron with Mitchell Willis Events helped us narrow down our thoughts and together we knew we wanted to create a feeling. Kinfolk is the best description of our inspiration because it is about simplifying life and cultivating community. Things we are very passionate about doing. We wanted to create a warm, welcoming night full of love and laughter. We were able to exceed our expectations. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed the night.

All the greenery was forged and turned into handmade garland and wreaths. There is a great link here if you want to try for yourself. The greenery played a huge role in highlighting the architectural details of the arches.

Josh Casper with Lagniappe  created an amazing spread of crostini’s. Ricotta roasted tomato, basil goat cheese, olive tapendade, dill spiced honey butter, smoked ham and chive were among the selection. Is your mouth watering yet? Cotton Blues made cheese cake bites that literally melted in your mouth. Last but not least my sweet Mother-In-Law topped off the most amazing food selection ever with her homemade shrimp dip and pecan pie bites. Our hearts were happy and our bellies were full.

Of course all good food needs to be accompanied by good music. I have been a fan of Oh Jeremiah for quite a while now and have loved watching their journey unfold. When I called to ask if they would play for us I never expected to get a yes. When they agreed I literally danced for 10 mins. What an honor to have them there to share the night. They have a new album out called Our Very Own Kingdom and it is a must hear. You know that feeling we talked about trying to create, well their music makes it every time.

We laughed in large quantities. We hugged everyone at least 3 times. We danced a little too much. We took no shame selfies. We had a magical end to the most amazing night. We in fact had the best Grand Opening and it was all thanks to you.

One last thank you to sweet Beth who captured the night perfectly.

I have always loved mixing furniture from different periods in time to create a one of a kind look. Today’s styled group has a little old, a little new, and some gorgeous blue. Enjoy!

Do not be afraid to mix different textures and colors it adds more visual interest. I love this geometric beaded pillow in front of traditional floral upholstery.
